What If

In life, we do things. Some we wish we had never done. Some we wish we could replay a million times in our heads. The things we do all make us who we are. They shape every detail about us. If we were to reverse any of them, we wouldn’t be the people we are.

So just live. Have wonderful memories. Allow for mistakes. Never second guess who you are, where you have been, and most importantly, where it is you are going. It is what it is. It isn’t what if

To a great mind, nothing is small. Small things make a difference. Added up, everything becomes significant.

Small actions daily become habits that lead to patterns of behaviour that make you who you are and shape the direction of your life. So yesterday is in the past, and nothing can be done about that. But every moment is a new moment. You can do something in the present and the future is as good as your imagination.

So if it is change you seek, and if change is what you want, you should imagine an alternate world of big what ifs.

When you stand in self reflection, here are some powerful questions you can ask yourself to create the life you want moving forward from what it is now:

What if we wake up each morning, look in the mirror and ask ourselves “Are you happy with the path your life is taking right now?” If not, “what are you gonna do about it?”

What if we do something about our problems, instead of just complaining and doing nothing?

What if we stop blaming others, and start taking responsibility for our own actions?

What if we choose to deal with our fears, not deny, run or hide from them?

What if we allow all emotions and acknowledge them, rather than suppress and avoid them?

What if we choose to express love, rather than learn how to hate?

What if we give compliments and understanding, instead of judgements and anger?

What if we strive to unlock our highest potential, not continue to lock ourselves in a prison of our own doing?

What if we decide to change the world, by first deciding to change ourselves?

What if we start by loving ourselves, respecting ourselves, treating ourselves right?

What if we have the courage to stand up for what is right, and not just follow the crowd?

What if we start making a difference, and stop making use of people and exploiting natural resources?

What if we realize one day that big hearts will bring us more peace than big weapons of mass destruction?

What if we build a future, not a stereotype?

What if we romanticised the present, rather than the past or the future?

What if we choose to live now, not waste a second more holding our breath waiting to come alive?

What a wonderful world it would be.

Whatever we can imagine, we can make real.

Let us die with good memories we have created, not wasted dreams of what if.
