NiGHT TO DAY is the pick for World Poetry Day 2020!
I wrote a poem about change and hope, working title NIGHT TO DAY.
And on World Poetry Day 2020, all the eight schools of White Lodge Asia (now Primus, by Invictus) brought my words to life by putting up their own performance of my poem.
So lovely to see all the different ways these imaginative teachers and children have chosen to express themselves creatively!

NIGHT TO DAY Testimonials and Reviews from the principals *
Phoenix Park:
The children loved NIGHT TO DAY and great excitement was had by all!
River Valley:
The children are mostly 4-6 and enjoyed reciting the poem and finding all the rhyming words. If there was a song to sing with the words, it would be great!
Bukit Timah:
We had a great time reading NIGHT TO DAY to our children, engaging their senses through visual background that showed the sun, the moon and the stars. The principal went from class to class to read the interactive poem. Our children were very curious about the words of the poem, the props, the actions performed during the read-a-loud session. The teachers too were very appreciative of how poetry can be used effectively to share knowledge and inspire curiosity in children. Overall, it was a very positive experience and all of us had a great time reading NIGHT TO DAY out loud.
Upper Bukit Timah:
The children enjoyed playing with the props prepared and acting out their parts in the performance of NIGHT TO DAY, as the principal read the poem out line by line. The older children found the poem easier to comprehend. They were able to identify and name the different props. Some of the children could also relate the poem with today’s climate change.
West Coast:
All the children enjoyed it. The younger ones were captivated by the sun, the moon, and especially the shiny stars. The older children had fun re-enacting the poem using the props. NIGHT TO DAY is a very soothing and calming poem.
East Coast:
I love the poem! It is beautiful. I read NIGHT TO DAY to all the classes and they all enjoyed it. The pre-nursery, nursery, pre-K and Kindergarten children were all very into it. The playgroup children below 3 years may have been a little too young to comprehend all the meanings of the words, but they still had fun! I’d love to have the author J* read it to the school community.
